Quick Update

We will be collecting signatures for the petition to help our campus become greener on Wednesday (27th) at the UC Satellite from 11:30- 1pm. Please come by at any time and help us collect as many signatures as possible.


Also on Wednesday (27th), we will be have the planning meeting for the recycling campaign. We will meet at the World Affairs Lounge at 3:30pm. Come at any time to give us your input and ideas. We need your support on this!


This Thursday (28th) the Sierra Club will be informing people on their national STOP COAL campaign at the Satellite from 11:30-1pm. We are sponsoring them, so see if you can stop by there to see them.


Public Citizen's of Houston is hosting a Coal Conference on Wednesday and Thursday, see our website for more information if you are interested in attending.


Saturday the 1st from 8-12pm, we will be volunteering at the arboretum. Read through the information for volunteers on our website before coming. If you need a ride or are interested in this, be sure to email us back.


Next meeting is on Wednesday in the Atlantic Room (74) on March the 5th. March is RECYCLING AWARENESS & ACCESSIBILITY month for us. We will be discussing the March calendar; there are lots of activities we have planned. So, be sure you sign up if you're interested in participating (calendar coming soon).
We will also be having a Mother's for Clean Air representative come and speak on Houston's air quality.

Coal Conference

Our club has been invited to attend the Coal Conference in Houston. Here is the information in case any of you are interested:

We are bringing in twelve experts from across the country who have been fighting Big Coal where they live. They provide compelling evidence of Coal's injury to our health and environment. (conference agenda and speakers)
